Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care

This apprenticeship framework has been approved by the Skills for Care and Development and the SSC, it is designed for people who work in, or want to work in the health and social care sector.

It provides an opportunity for Premier Care employees to develop their knowledge and skills related to working in an adult care environment.

What you need to be able to demonstrate

  • High standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work within a team or on your own.
  • The ability to keep calm in busy and pressured situations.
  • Good customer service skills and a caring nature.
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • An interest in supporting and caring for people.

Intermediate Apprenticeship for
Adult Social Care

Framework Structure
Level 2 award in employment responsibilities and rights in health, social care or children and young people’s settings – ERR
Level 2 certificate in preparing to work in adult care (knowledge)
Level 2 diploma in health and social care (adults) for England (competence)
Level 1 functional skills qualification in maths
Level 1 functional skills qualification in English
Progression
You can progress to an advanced (level 3) apprenticeship in health and social care.

Advanced Apprenticeship for
Adult Social Care

Progression
Completion of the advanced apprenticeship will stand you in good stead for progression onto higher education in subjects like nursing or midwifery, or management roles in care homes.
How much time does it take?
The apprenticeship is flexible to meet your individual needs but would normally last between 12 to 18 months. There are no set hours for self-study, but you will need to be motivated.

Entry requirements
You must undergo an interview and initial assessment before enrolling to ensure you’re on the right course at the right level.
